In this example, Luis is going to a supermarket to get some tomatoes. Since he doesn’t know exactly where they are, he finds a store clerk to ask her where he can find them.
Luis: Hola, buenas tardes. Disculpe, donde están los tomates?
(Hello, Good Afternoon. Excuse me, where are tomatoes?)
Dependienta: Hola, buenas tardes. Están en el último pasillo a la derecha, al lado de los pepinos.
(Store Clerk: Hello, Good Afternoon. They are in the last aisle to the right, next to cucumbers.)
Luis: Gracias.
(Thank you.)
Luis encuentra los tomates.
(Luis finds the tomatoes.)
Luis: Ah, están aquí. Estos tomates están muy caros! Tendré suficiente dinero para las tortillas? Ya veré.
