Pimsleur

This is one of my favorite language learning programs. I used to listen to their CDs in my car. It is a very good use of time while commuting to work or school or while traveling on an airplane, bus, etc. Also, the speakers divide words into syllables first, so that helps to learn how to pronounce them correctly.

Pimsleur Language Programs

Rosetta Stone

I used this to learn French and it was great. It does require some self-discipline to keep doing it every day, but one session only takes about 30 minutes. I liked the fact that the previously learned words would come up at the most effective learning interval to refresh your memory. The live conversation sessions were very helpful and my favorite part of the program.

501 Spanish Verbs

The Oxford Spanish Dictionary

I literally lived with this HUGE dictionary. I loved it! I kept it in my kitchen and would “read”  one for two pages each day. It is huge but packed full of great information. It has a lot of example sentences, which were very helpful!
